Penicuik Classes and Personal Training

We have a wide range of classes at The Fitness Education Academy's facility in Penicuik with well qualified instructors to work with you through your class.  We also offer personal training with the guarantee that all of our personal trainers are registered on REPs (The Register of Exercise Professionals) with specialist personal trainers also qualified to train those who require specialist training such as clients who are under 16, exercise referral clients who may have medical conditions and also those with mental health conditions. Please find a description of our classes below;

BOXERCISE

Boxercise is a cardio workout based on boxing techniques and pad work.  It is a fun and challenging workout and perfect for relieving stress.  Suitable to all levels of fitness.  This class will improve your core and build strength.  No previous boxing experience necessary.

STUDIO CYCLE

Studio cycle provides a great cardio workout, as well as strength training, targeting and toning the thighs, glutes, hamstrings and core.  Suitable for all fitness levels.

TRX

This is a two-strap suspension training system that supports your body weight against gravity to provide workouts that target and challenge muscular stability, strength, and muscular endurance while improving flexibility, balance and coordination.  Suitable for all fitness levels.

HIIT

High Intensity Interval Training is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.  Exercises can be adapted to suit all fitness levels.  This a great way to start your day, come along and give it a go. 

BOX FIT (Primary School Age)

Box fit is a fun class focusing on basic boxing techniques and pad work. Other benefits of this class include improving physical health, teaching self-defence and increasing confidence.  Your child will have the opportunity to meet new people in a relaxed and friendly environment while burning off some of that extra energy!  Suitable for beginners.

BOX FIT (High School Age)

Boxing is a great skill to learn, this class focusses on technique, pad work and fitness. Boxing is proven to build confidence and self defence while teaching respect and discipline.  All positive skills to carry on into later life.  Suitable for all levels.

PILATES

Pilates offers a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training, and is suitable for all ages and abilities. It improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. By concentrating on core stability you will achieve a balanced body workout, from the inside out.   This a fantastic class taught in a friendly, relaxed environment.

WEIGHTS CIRCUIT

This class uses various weights in a circuit format, ideal for those looking to tone up their muscles.  Suitable for beginners.

AEROBICS

This is an upbeat, fun class and a great aerobic workout, ideal for cardiovascular training, using traditional aerobic moves.  Suitable for beginners.

CV AND ABS

A great cardiovascular workout using a variety of moves to get the heart rate going in order to burn fat. The class also includes some great core strengthening exercises to help tone those abs.

BUMS, TUMS AND THIGHS

A great class using traditional moves to help tone those stubborn areas such as the bum, the core and the legs.  Suitable for beginners.

RIP

This is the perfect workout for anyone looking to tone.  The class consists of using light to moderate weights with lots of repetitions giving a total body workout.  You’ll come out of this class feeling fantastic, come along and give it a try.  Suitable for beginners.
