Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training *includes emergency first aid and free CPD course*
The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, fitness assessments, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client. It is taught through ‘blended learning’ which is a mixture of home study (approximately 80 hours) and 5 attendance days focussing mainly on the practical aspects of the course. The qualification is broken down into the following units:
The course is assessed through theory assessments, written questions, case studies and observation. It is mandatory that candidates are already qualified at level 2 (gym instructor) to achieve this qualification. On completion candidates will be awarded a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training which will also allow them to gain entry onto The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 3.
If candidates prefer, they can choose to complete this course in stages, the anatomy and physiology and the nutrition units can be done prior to attending the rest of the course as home study, this then allows the candidate to concentrate on the practical element of the course and the personal training case study.

PRE - REQUISITE
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (gym based) - or equivalent
On completion candidates will be awarded a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training which will be eligible for entry onto The Register of Exercise Professionals at level 3 and 20 REPs CPD points.

*CPD courses to choose from include Suspended Bodyweight Instructor, Kettlebell Instructor, Boot Camp Instructor, Studio Resistance Instructor, Group HIIT Instructor, Studio Combat Instructor (ETM required as pre-requisite), Circuit Training Instructor, Sports Conditioning Instructor. Alternatively you have the option of completing an online workshop endorsed by AIQ in padwork training, medicine ball training, obesity myths, fuelling physical activity or powerclub training CPD course to be taken within one year of PT course start date.
